OpenSpeak AAC is a free, open-source communication application developed by the OpenSpeak AAC Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in Wyoming. The app helps non-verbal children and individuals with speech delays communicate using symbols, sentence building, and text-to-speech.
By downloading, installing, or using the OpenSpeak app or visiting our website at www.openspeakaac.org, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you are a parent or guardian using OpenSpeak on behalf of a child, you accept these terms on their behalf.

OpenSpeak is open-source software. The source code is available under the terms specified in our repository. The OpenSpeak name, logo, and branding are trademarks of the OpenSpeak AAC Foundation.
OpenSpeak uses pictographic symbols from ARASAAC (Aragonese Centre for Augmentative and Alternative Communication), created by the Government of Aragon. These symbols are licensed under Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0. You may not use these symbols for commercial purposes outside of OpenSpeak.
Any custom symbols, profiles, or data you create within OpenSpeak belong to you. We do not claim ownership of your content.
OpenSpeak is not a medical device. It is a communication aid designed to supplement, not replace, professional speech therapy or medical treatment. OpenSpeak should be used alongside guidance from qualified speech-language pathologists, educators, or healthcare providers.
We do not make any claims about therapeutic outcomes. Every child is different, and results will vary. Always consult a licensed professional for diagnosis and treatment of speech or communication disorders.
OpenSpeak is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
You may stop using OpenSpeak at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate access to accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your local data remains on your device. Cloud data will be deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of OpenSpeak after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Wyoming.
